Type Designation
What Is Type Designation?
Equipment that has received a type designation is exempt from the individual installation permit otherwise required of the user.
When a manufacturer or importer files an application and receives a type designation from the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, users of that type of high-frequency utilization equipment no longer need to obtain an individual installation permit (Article 46 of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Radio Act). This significantly reduces the filing burden for customers introducing equipment of the same type.
To receive a type designation, the equipment must conform to the technical conditions prescribed in Article 46-2 of the Enforcement Regulations and must pass a performance evaluation test at a testing organization. We provide end-to-end support, from conducting this performance evaluation test to filing the application on your behalf.
